HRM Lectures
As part of our business lectures series, this HRM lecture goes into the fundamentals of Human Resource Management covering a range of topics from team motivation through to organisational management and oversight. The lecture has been written by a university lecturer specifically for students at an undergraduate level. As with all of our online lectures, access to our HRM lecture is completely free and no registration is required.
Human Resource Management (HRM) is the area of business that takes responsibility for the management of people within the organisation. This is a vital task to ensure the effective running of a business, and has been growing in importance over the years. To effectively manage the human capital of a company is a complex task, and draws on areas such as psychology alongside the more traditional management theory. This module will cover the essential elements that are required to provide modern and effective HRM - with topics such as organisational behaviour, employment regulations, group and team dynamics, and talent management.

Introduction: Most businesses that demonstrate an ability to maintain an enduring competitive advantage appear to recognise the importance of gaining, retaining and deploying knowledge effectively. As such, it is important to examine the methods by which this is acquired and why this learning is key in the corporate sector. - 3.6 Cultural Management Lecture
Introduction: Organisational culture is a very important factor which influences the behaviour in organisations. It is very difficult to define what organisational culture is due to its unspoken rituals and implicit rules. Organisational culture also changes over time and organisational behaviour changes with it. - 3.7 Recruitment & Selection Lecture
Introduction: Recruitment is the process of seeking applicants for positions within a business - on either a general basis or targeted to address particular vacancies. Potential applicants may be interested, but there is no mutual obligation between the possible employee and the employer concerned. Selection takes the next step, where the employer makes a choice between two or more interested applicants. - 3.8 Employee Relations Lecture
Introduction: The employment relationship is complex and relies upon a range of factors which must be satisfied to ensure that staff can work to their potential and offer the most based on their unique skills and competencies. To achieve this aim good HR management practice needs to be underpinned by a reliable and consistent employment environment that meets regulations and guidelines.
